Mobile Gambling on the Rise

Gambling on mobile phones is on the rise according to industry experts. Paddy Power have said that 34% of their customers activate their accounts through smartphones like Androids and iPhones, and Betfair reported that they took more than £1bn in bets over phones in 2010. Mobile gaming revenues in general have quadrupled in 2010.

Since 3G smart phones were introduced, online gambling was one of the ‘3 G’s’ expected to benefit most from mobile platforms (the others being Games and Girls). It has taken a long time for those predictions to become a reality, but it finally looks to be coming into fruition.
